Episode 106: Arrowhead Pride Postgame – Week Seven, Chiefs @ Chargers

ArrowheadPrideThe Chiefs earned themselves one hell of a road victory against a division rival this afternoon, defeating the San Diego 23-20 on a 48-yard field goal by rookie kicker Cairo Santos.

Philip Rivers has playing better than anyone in the NFL and the Chargers were on a five-game winning streak. Andy Reid ran the ball. He ran it a lot. He also returned to his winning ways coming off the bye week, now 14-2 for his career.┬áBrandon Flowers’ afternoon ended abruptly after a huge collision with Jamaal Charles on a play that made JC the Chiefs All-Time leading rusher. Dwayne Bowe had himself a nice game despite an egregious third down drop in the early going.

There were defensive standouts aplenty, though none are really household names as of yet. HUGE props to linebacker Josh Mauga for a truly special performance and to rookie corner Philip Gaines who played extremely well in what were his first meaningful defensive snaps. Now at 3-3 and clear of the murderer’s row portion of their schedule, the Chiefs look primed to make a run at the playoffs.
